Synopsis
"The Last Ninja" commence à former un nouvel ordre de Ninja. Au cours d'une séance d'entraînement, il est mystérieusement transporté dans le New York du XXe siècle. Le Shogun maléfique est de retour ! Arraché à son époque, le Dernier Ninja doit se défendre une fois de plus en ne croyant qu'en ses propres capacités.
Le joueur contrôle un puissant ninja et doit se frayer un chemin parmi ses adversaires tout en collectant des objets. Le jeu est divisé en plusieurs niveaux, chacun d'entre eux représentant un lieu différent et divisé en plusieurs écrans. La vue est isométrique, le ninja peut se déplacer dans quatre dimensions différentes et sauter.
Le ninja doit combattre ses ennemis à mains nues ou à l'aide des armes qu'il trouve sur son chemin. Il existe une arme spéciale à distance : le shuriken, infligeant de lourds dégâts.
